Health, Wellness and Vital Growth
An evidence-based, compassionate program for neurodivergent individuals, their families and the community that supports them. Led by Dr. Pedro Barbero — Family Physician · Pediatrician · Coach · Zen Instructor.
About the program
This program offers a formative, practical and human path to promote vitality, wellbeing, autonomy and personal growth in neurodivergent individuals, their families and the educational, social and community environments around them.
Aligned with Self Learning Academy's mission: empower neurodivergent people and their families through evidence-based programs, compassionate support and community partnerships — fostering resilience, wellbeing and growth across the lifespan.
The program does not start from the idea of "fixing" the person, but from creating conditions so they can know themselves better, regulate themselves better, care for their energy, strengthen their body, order their habits and participate in their environment with more safety and a sense of belonging.
Sessions combine accessible scientific outreach, inspiring stories, reflection questions, simple exercises and concrete actions for home. The goal is not to add more information, but to translate it into realistic, kind and sustainable change.
Objectives
- Reinforce confidence and a sense of capability, focusing on strengths, resources and real possibilities for improvement. - Promote sustainable health habits related to movement, nutrition, sleep, breathing, attention, social connection, purpose, organization and financial wellbeing. - Provide simple self-regulation tools applicable to daily life, especially in moments of stress, overload or transition. - Support families in creating clearer, kinder and more sustainable routines, reducing friction and increasing collaboration. - Foster a community culture of understanding, respect, mutual support and realistic expectations. - Offer rigorous, prudent information — no exaggerated promises, no blaming messages, no simplistic solutions. - Connect health, autonomy, purpose and social participation as inseparable dimensions of personal growth.
> Professional note: this program has an educational purpose. It does not replace clinical evaluation, diagnosis, medical treatment, psychological intervention, occupational therapy or individualized guidance when needed.
